You can add money to your account in four ways: Using your card in the NatWest Rooster Money app, by bank transfer from your bank account through the NatWest App and through online banking.

To add money using your card on the Rooster App:

1. Tap the '+' next to the Parent Account.

2. Select 'Add using your debit card'.

3. Choose your amount (you can make payments up to £100 using your card).

4. Select the card you want to use for the top-up or select 'Add card' to add a new payment card. Enter the CVV for that card.

5. Tap the 'Top-up' button at the bottom.

To transfer money from your bank account:

1. Tap the '+' next to the Parent Account.

2. Select 'Add from your bank'.

3. You'll see your Account Number and Sort Code.

4. Head back to your own banking app to create a transfer to a new payee and enter your Rooster Account details.

5. Remember to select a business transfer rather than a personal transfer.

To add money through the mobile banking app:

1. Once you've connected your accounts, open up your mobile banking app.

2. Select the Rooster Money tile on your NatWest App homepage.

3. Tap ‘Top-Up’ and follow the simplified payment journey to top up either the parent account or child card.

To add money through online banking:

1. Once you've connected your accounts, log in to your online banking account.

2. Select the Rooster Money tile.

3. Click ‘Top-Up account’ and follow the simplified payment journey to top up either the parent account or child card.

• Like all financial institutions we have to ensure that our customers pass Know Your Client (KYC) checks. This is not a credit check, and applying for a NatWest Rooster Card will not affect your credit score. 
• We'll check your identity and address, and if we can't confirm them, then we'll reach out to you to get proof of identity such as a passport, or proof of address e.g. a bank statement.

Yes, you can use your NatWest Rooster Money debit card while you're on holiday.

With your Rooster Card subscription (free for NatWest customers), you can spend up to £50 in foreign currencies each month while overseas without any extra fees from us. Over £50, we’ll charge you 3% of the transaction amount. Please note that some foreign ATMs may charge their own fees on top of this.

Parents or guardians will first need to make sure that the spending abroad option is turned on in the Rooster app card settings. You can do this by following these steps:

• From the Family Dashboard, select "Card" underneath your child's profile.
• Select "Card Settings".
• Switch on/off "Spending abroad (in-person)".

To be eligible for the free Rooster Card subscription offer you must be a NatWest bank customer, over 18, a UK resident, registered for either Mobile Banking or Online Banking with kids aged between 6 and 17. • Sign up to NatWest Rooster Money and download the app. Make sure you have the latest version of the app which you can get or update from the app store.
• You’ll need to give your full legal name, your date of birth, nationality, address and email. You’ll also need to give the first name, date of birth and gender of each child you add to Rooster Money.
• Once your children are set up, you can follow the steps in the app to start a free Rooster Card 30-day trial and connect your NatWest account to receive the free offer for as long as you're a NatWest customer.
